Marriage Preparation
Marriage Preparation Director: Domenica Hartman - 464-0704
The Marriage Preparation Program is a fun and informal means to help the engaged couple prepare mentally and spiritually for their upcoming marriage.
After meeting with Father Jerry or Deacon Dale, and setting a date for their wedding, the engaged couple is contacted by the coordinator for the Marriage Preparation Program, typically three to six months before their wedding date.
Three married couples make up the team that assists the engaged couple. The engaged couple will also meet with several other engaged couples, as well as one or two of the married couples, for three to four group sessions.
These sessions take place at the home of one of the married couples. During these sessions, the married and engaged couples discuss and have fun with the "Marriage in the Lord" Workbook.
The engaged couple will also meet individually with one of the married couples to discuss the results of their FOCCUS test. This is a standardized test that the engaged couple will take during their discussions with Father Jerry or Deacon Dale.
The program is fun and all engaged couples are welcome to be married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
